2019 has been a great year for Morrison Baptist Church. December may have been the best month of the whole year. Here are a few highlights:
Christmas Carolling & Chili Supper
Singers from MBC visited homes in the community to spread a little Christmas cheer through music. Afterwards, we enjoyed a chili supper prepared by the great cooks of the church.
Our Brotherhood and WMU groups led a food drive for families in our community. Members of the church donated and purchased food for the boxes. Several gift boxes were assembled and distributed to families in the community.
Christmas Candle-light Service
The Sunday night before Christmas, we had a special candle-light service. Traditional Christmas hymns were sung by the congregation and choir. The Scriptures containing the Christmas narrative were read. The service concluded with lighting of candles and singing Silent Night.
5th Sunday Sing
Every fifth Sunday, churches in Brooks County meet together for a music service. Morrison, Morven and Pauline Churches have worshipped together in this way for many years. MBC hosted the service in December. This time, Salem Church, which has had a choir for 150 years, joined us. We had a great time of worship and fellowship, followed by a meal.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve God and our community this past year. We are also grateful for God's many blessings He has given us throughout the year. God was good to us in 2019. And we are confident He will continue to bless in 2020.
